Burps & Bibs
Anyone with a 5-month-old teething child, knows that drool is a real issue. Caden is pretty much a dripping faucet all day long. He has often been soaking wet all down the front of his onesie due to his drool! The traditional bib, while practical, is not exactly fashionable to wear out of the house. You can find really hip and trendy bandana bibs at little baby boutiques, but they are pretty pricey. Lindsay decided she would get to the sewing machine and whip out a few of her own bandana bibs. Here are the results:
She made 5 bibs. The top 4 are made from two triangular pieces of fabric sewn together with these snaps at the ends to attach the bib around Caden's neck. Snaps are fastened to the fabric using these snap pliers. These tools can be purchased from the amazon links shown or from your local Hobby Lobby, where we bought ours. The one in the middle was made from one of my old shirts.
She sewed some matching burp cloths to go with the bibs. The fabric for all of these cost about $6.
Here's Caden with his bib made from my old shirt.
It was made by cutting off both sides of my shirt and sewing them together to make a square.
Then, you fold the square like this...
...And put the button from one side into the button hole on the other side.
The other bibs just fasten around the back with the snaps.
