Our Story...
Our story involves one great God, some insightful friends, and many miles of running!
In November 2011, Miguel Serrano started laying the groundwork. During a Christmas brunch at Lindsay's place, Miguel looked at Lindsay's house decorations and said, "Do you know Clayton Koh?!" Lindsay didn't. Miguel then said, "Well you should definitely meet because you both would get along really well. I'm not saying that you should date, but you'd at least be good friends." Lindsay facebook stalked for a little bit and then forgot about it. Thankfully, Miguel didnt!
He then talked to Clayton's brother, Shawn, and asked if he could see them working out? Shawn asked Clayton and he also facebook stalked Lindsay and then forgot about it.
All would have been lost if another friend hadn't stepped in at that point. Rebecca Chung (now Hibbert) also saw the potentially amazing compatibility of Clayton & Lindsay and after talking with her sister, decided that she had to take matters into her own hands and "make something happen." She volunteered to host a Bible study that Clayton was leading at her apartment one night and then asked Lindsay if she would come over to help her cook food. Lindsay, being a dietitian who is passionate about cooking, agreed and came over.
Several hours later, Clayton walked in and wondered who this new girl was. When they met and found out each others' names, the lightbulb turned on in both of their minds as they realized that the other person was the one that Miguel had told them about in the past.
As Providence would have it, Clayton happened to sit where Lindsay had set her stuff down and they ended up sitting next to each other and Lindsay happened to forget her Bible (when coming to a Bible study) so Clayton shared his Bible with her. They chatted, added each other on Facebook and began "talking." One thing led to another and they found themselves on their first date. Lindsay was training for a marathon and Clayton decided to go running with her on one of her training runs. 11 miles later, they were exhausted, Clayton's foot was injured, and they had covered A LOT of ground, in running mileage and conversation. They went over to Clayton's house and had whole food smoothies. You see, Clayton had been on a 21 day whole foods fast to set aside time and clear his mind to devote himself to praying for many things...one of them being that God would give him clarity in his search for "the one." In answer to his prayers, God had orchestrated this whole series of events to start mid-fast! The last day of his fast was their first official (running) date!
Their relationship progressed through fun weekly date nights, time with friends and family, many Bible studies, ups and downs, and hundreds of conversations. Both sensed God's guidance from that first 11-mile run and look forward to following His pace and direction as they continue life's race...TOGETHER!
